Nancy Alcorn began her professional career in 1973 as the Athletic Director for the State of Tennessee’s correctional facility for juvenile delinquent girls where she worked until 1978. From 1978 to 1980 she worked as a Senior Social Service Counselor for the Department of Human Services where she supervised foster care and investigated child abuse cases in Nashville, TN. From 1981 to 1983 she worked as the Director of Women for Teen Challenge in Nashville, TN where she had general oversight of their residential program for girls, provided individual counseling services and supervised other staff members.

In 1983, Nancy founded Mercy Ministries of America, an organization which has been providing care for hurting young women from across the globe for over 25 years. Mercy Ministries of America now operates with multiple residential facilities in the United States. Nancy has also authored several books including Echoes of Mercy, Mercy Moves Mountains, Cut: Mercy for Self-Harm and Starved: Mercy for Eating Disorders, all of which are designed to help reach young women who are seeking freedom from life-controlling issues. Today, Nancy is the Founder and President of Mercy Ministries and continues in her effort to expand this life-changing program across the nations.

Nancy serves as a National Board Member for Athletes in Action and on the Board of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. She is a member of the Hillsong Network, the International Convention of Faith Ministries and the Global Network of Christian Ministries. In 2004, she served as co-chair of the building campaign for Christ Church in Nashville, TN. She has also served as a keynote speaker at Girls of Grace Conferences held in cities across the country and at women’s and church conferences around the world.
