Steven Pruett has strong experience in U.S. power markets having been involved in them for over 20 years. His experience started in accounting with PSI Energy in 1978. He held various accounting positions and then moved to wholesale market activities. He was involved in market studies and developing wholesale market strategies for PSI. From this, he became responsible for pricing wholesale transactions. When PSI became Cinergy, he was then charged with setting up the power trading business in Cincinnati.
Steven was hired by Goldman Sachs, advisor to Constellation Power Source (CPS), in February 1997. During the period of 1997-2001, he was involved in managing risk and trading the power markets. He learned the risk management practices and the management style of Goldman Sachs and gained significant exposure on how risk is managed both for individual trades and CPS. Goldman was bought out of the advisor agreement in Spring of 2001, and he became Co-COO of CPS for 6 months. He returned to work for Goldman Sachs in New York City in December 2001.
Steven was Managing Director for Goldman Sachs in New York City during the period of December 2001 to November 2006. There, he was responsible to create, establish and run U.S. Power Business in the Commodities group of Goldman Sachs. In doing so, he was responsible for managing the risks and the profits of the U.S. Power Business.
Steven has been married to his wife, Deanna, for over 20 years. They have five children and four grandchildren. They are members of Naples Christian Church and reside in Naples, Florida.
