Dear Friends and Supporters:
As I look back over the past 25 years, I am in awe of the number of lives that God has transformed.
God placed a dream in my heart over 25 years ago. He allowed me to see the needs of young women so clearly when I worked for the government for eight years. The girls that I worked with were not getting the help they needed. I endured years of hearing about girls who left the government programs and either took their own lives, died from drug overdoses, or got killed in street gang fights. I remember staying awake at night thinking about how it could be so different if we had the freedom to share Christ.
I also worked investigating child abuse cases and saw the vicious cycle of destruction being passed from one generation to another. I knew that the only way this cycle could be broken was through the power of Christ. My hands were tied as I watched one life after another waste away. I remember asking people who were more experienced than me: “Why won’t somebody do something about this? Why is no one really helping these girls?”
It eventually became clear why God was showing me all the government systems that looked good and sounded good on paper, yet the lives were not changing. I realized that I needed to be one of the people who would step up and do something about the problem instead of looking for someone else to do it. I also came to realize that God’s strength is made perfect in my weaknesses, and if He was calling me, He would equip me. I began to study faith and renew my mind to the fact that God’s ways are higher than our ways. I stepped out in fear and trembling, but there was a trust in my heart that God was going to make a way where there seemed to be no way.
I received my final confirmation when I read in 1 Corinthians 1:27 that God deliberately chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise - that is when I knew I was called!!
Now, 25 years later, I just marvel at what God has done. We have homes operating and new homes being built all around the world. We are literally serving more girls each day.
In closing, I want to encourage you if God is nudging you to do something for Him, just remember this - God uses imperfect people to do a perfect work.
Thank you for your continued faithful support,
