I came to Mercy Ministries because of drug and alcohol abuse and a lifestyle of promiscuity. I grew up without my biological father and never understood why he didn't love me enough to be there. Although my childhood was good by most standards, I missed not having a dad. When my mother remarried and had another child, I felt alone and began isolating myself and releasing my anger and aggression through sports. Soon after entering college, I began abusing drugs and alcohol. I dropped out shortly after and got a job, an apartment, and a car.
Within a few months, I had lost everything. Eventually, I was not only doing drugs but selling them. I would do nothing but sleep all day because I felt worthless. As my weight declined, my family grew desperate and sought help through the Mercy Ministries website.
