A Special Luncheon With Special Mercy Friends!
February 21st, 2012

The California Mercy home was all abuzz last Thursday as guests arrived for a delicious meal and tour of the facility for our Friends of Mercy Luncheon. Folks experienced firsthand the mission of Mercy after hearing two powerful testimonies from two Mercy heroes.

| Nicole |
Nicole graduated from Mercy Ministries last spring and shared about her unstable home life as a child, her struggle with drugs and alcohol and an eight-year battle with bulimia. Before Mercy, Nicole found her identity in the labels given to her by doctors. Mercy taught her to find her identity in Christ; now she lives in freedom because of Him.

| Christina |
Another special speaker, recent Mercy graduate Christina, shared her story for the first time. Sexually abused by a family member for many years, she was traumatized and felt like she had no voice. Because of Mercy, Christina has found courage in Christ to have a voice and is now truly transformed. Christina is doing an internship with her church and plans to help other hurting children who have been abused. She is looking forward to her bright future and all God has in store.
Both of these stories made a huge impact on everyone yesterday. Special thanks to our amazing volunteers, special guests and residents who helped make this a memorable experience. We appreciate our Mercy partners literally making the difference between life and death by helping young women like Nicole and Christina be restored through Christ.
