Lily - 2010 Graduate
I struggled with a severe eating disorder for most of my life, was abused throughout my childhood, and had so many diagnoses it'd make your head spin. My family spent a half-million dollars on hospitals and other treatment centers, but nothing ever changed. All the medical professionals who "treated" me told me I would struggle for the rest of my life, that I was "treatment-resistant," that I could never hold a job and that I would never be able to have children. In 2008, my husband was preparing for my funeral when I heard about Mercy Ministries.
While at Mercy, I learned about my true identity in Christ – that I am accepted, worthy, loved, capable and best of all, HEALED and RENEWED. After graduating in March 2010, God just kept blessing my life! I got a fantastic job and then, the biggest blessing of all, after being told by doctors that I would never have children, and after trying for a full year, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy in September of 2011!
Mercy Ministries has made a profound difference in my life and I am proud to financially support the ministry that gave me so much. If I hadn't gone to Mercy, I would not have known what a true relationship with Christ is like, and probably wouldn't be alive today. I am so thankful for a place like Mercy where young women can go to experience God’s unconditional love and life-transforming power!
